Located on the banks of a river from which it has taken its name, Sand River Masai Mara is located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. Situated on a secluded and picturesque site, Sand River Masai Mara replicates the heyday of exclusive permanent tented camps of the late 1920’s. The interior fixtures and furnishings mirror this period perfectly, reminding all who visit of those countless Hollywood movies that have paid homage to a classic era of African adventure. Elewana Sand River Mara Camp comprises of 16-tented accommodations - including 1 family tent - each divided into two separate but adjoining campsites, with each area possessing its own designated dining and public areas, thereby creating an increased sense of exclusivity and privacy.

Approximately 18-32KMs,takes approximately 1hours drive depending on traffic .Bonfire Adventures guide driver will warmly meet you on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. transfer you to your Nairobi hotel. Check-in then we brief you on what will hopefully be your best holiday in Africa. Enjoy overnight. You are booked on Bed & Breakfast
Approximately 1hr, 15 minutes light aircraft from Nairobi to Samburu. Enjoy breakfast then we transfer you to the Wilson Airport for your morning scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve where your Kenya safari begins. The Camp/Lodge vehicle will pick you from the Airstrip transfer you to the camp for check-in. Enjoy lunch then a shared afternoon game viewing drive. Later return back to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.
Enjoy early morning game viewing drive to enjoy your African safari then return back to the lodger/camp for breakfast. Mid-morning is at leisure. Enjoy Lunch then depart on an afternoon game viewing drive. The Semi-arid game reserve is home to the special five of Samburu namely the Gerenuk (Twiga gazelle), the grevy's Zebra,beisa oryx, Somali Ostrich and the reticulated giraffe. Other wildlife here includes lions, the Savannah elephant, Cape buffalo, the elusive leopard among many others. Enjoy dinner and overnight.
Approximately 1.5 Hours on a light aircraft Enjoy breakfast then the camp vehicle will drop you at the airstrip for your morning scheduled flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Camp/lodge vehicle will pick you from the airstrip, transfer you to the lodge for check-in, lunch then an afternoon game viewing drive. Later return back to the lodge enjoy dinner and overnight.
Enjoy morning and afternoon shared game viewing drives. famous for the spectacular wildebeest migration between July through to September each year, the abundant wildlife including the "Big Five" of Africa. It is one of the best safari destinations for Safari in Africa. The reserve is surrounded by Masai traditional home-steads and so at a small extra cost you may want to experience a cultural visit to one of them. Enjoy dinner and overnight.
Approximately 1hour on a light aircraft Enjoy breakfast then check-out. The lodge vehicle will drop you at the Olkiombo Airstrip in time for your morning scheduled flight to Nairobi. We meet you on arrival at the Wilson Airport, transfer you to to the Carnivore Restaurant for Lunch then onwards to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.

The reserve is a photographer's and naturalist's paradise, with abundant elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion and cheetah alongside the migratory wildebeest and zebra. Leopards are frequently encountered, endangered black rhino hide in the dense thickets and large rafts of hippo and enormous crocodiles are found in the Mara River. The park is also home to hundreds of bird species.

View this PackageSamburu is among Kenya’s most scenic reserves, with riverine forest along the lovely Ewaso Nyiro River. Close to the river is also where you’re most likely to see leopards. Near the river, dry acacia scrub and semi-arid savannah, peppered with termite mounds, takes over and extends all the way to the mountains that define the park’s northern boundary. Koitogor Hill marks the middle of the reserve.
